Floral catch all bibs – ready to go!

Floral catch all bib - Oak Tag Designs on Etsy

Just finished off a few more bibs ready for my Etsy store.

I absolutely love these fabrics and the prints. I had a moment where I wondered if my nearly 4-year old could resume wearing a bib just because I love it so much (yes, it does fit her!), but remembered she hasnt worn one for at least a year!!

Sweet cotton pyjamas!

Sweet blue pyjamas ~ OTD

Sometimes Im so busy sewing things for other people and doing repairs on clothes, I run out of time to make clothes for my own kids.

I decided to spend some time making my eldest daughter some pyjamas. Where we live is quite temperate and so I decided to make long-sleeved and long-armed cotton pyjamas.

I used this old pattern I found at an opp shop recently.

Simplicity pattern 8325

I thought I would make the girls’ version, thinking it had a yoke. Nope! It is actually a giant collar! So I didn’t use the collar; instead adding lace.

Lacy sleeve cuffs <3

The sleeve cuffs are probably my favourite 🙂

Snap fastening on pyjamas

I loved making these pyjamas. Cutting them out well, pressing everything as I was making it, overlocking, putting in the lace..  They came out looking professional, and I feel assured that they will easily last both of my daughters because of the high quality fabric.

A pram blanket?!

Blue pram blanket ~ OTD

A few years ago, I was trying to get in some stashbusting, with speed! I saw this amazing pattern (at least I thought so at the time) for pram blankets that used multiple strands. It had different pattern repeats for different looks. I choose mine, along with 8 (!) strands of 8 ply (DK) and away I went. It turned out lovely. Except that I didnt actually want to use it with my babies. It is quite chunky and I could just see them pulling the strands with their fingers.

In retrospect, I wonder, did I make it more strands that the pattern said? Maybe I was too eager to see that yarn disappear!

So it has sat in the wardrobe and I have pulled it out to scratch my head a few times, and then it has returned. Ive decided it has to happen.. whatever ‘it’ may be. So far my kids’ ideas are as follows, “WE will have it as a blanket!”, said very matter-of-factly. One of my ideas is to back it with a fabric and use it as some kind of knee-warmer on the couch. Another is to back it with fabric, double it over, and use it as a cushion cover. And thats it. Help me!

What would you do with this strange creation??
